Futuresequence is a platform for experimental music in all its guises. Whilst we have primarily been a blog/magazine since our inception in August 2010, 2012 sees the shifting of that focus and energy to launching our label.
What music do we release/cover? Loosely we are concerned with, but not limited by; electronic / beats / ambient / minimal / noise and drone sounds. More specifically we're interested in artists who are exploring the possibilities and pushing the boundaries of texture, patterns and sequences of sounds, and juxtaposition of instrumentation and electronics.
We curate an ongoing free compilation series, the first of which SEQUENCE1 and SEQUENCE2 were released in 2011. The aim of this series to showcase the breadth and depth of artists working in the experimental fields, each compilation weighing in at 42 and 43 tracks respectively - some unsigned/emerging, some signed/established artists. Total downloads for each compilation was over 1500. This series will continue with SEQUENCE3 track submissions being accepted from February 2012 onwards and will, as with the previous two, be a free digital download.
FAQs
Do you accept demos?
For the most part we are hand selecting the artists we want to work with for the first 6 months of our existence. That said, we always want to hear new music, and are open to hearing anything and talking to anyone.
Will you review my album/EP/track/release?
For the first half of 2012 we’re focusing on getting the label off the ground, that’s not a no necessarily, but means we can give no guarantees that we will review your work.
I’m looking for a label to release my album, its kinda post-dubstep / chill-witch-wave / chunt-hop album (I did the cover on my Instagram app all by myself!) - can I send it to you?
No. You can not. Go away.
Will you post this new track I made last night and is probably the best thing you’ve ever heard in your life?
No. We will not. Go away.
